Adrian Arthur Payne 1964 - 2023

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Adrian Payne who passed away peacefully on Sunday evening after a short illness. Since the 1990's Adrian has been a dedicated supporter of Burry Port RFC and established himself as one of our best volunteers, selling match day programmes at home games, and he was often rewarded at many presentation evenings when he picked up trophies for his hard work. He also wore the black jersey of Burry Port during an Origin Cup game against the Warriors, and was never happier than socialising with players and members of the rugby club. One of his happiest moments was being in the crowd of the Principality stadium when supporting the Blacks during our 2016 Bowl victory. Our condolences go to Adrian's parents Larry and Yvonne, and his brother Chris. Adrain will be sadly missed at Burry Port RFC, he was known and loved by many and forged friendships with players of the club across many generations. His sense of humour in particular stood him out to be one of the true characters of the club and wider community. As a mark of respect, Burry Port RFC will hold a minute silence at their next home game v Penclawdd RFC on Saturday 18th November.
