We are saddened to hear that our former player, Alan 'Tew' Williams 
passed away this morning.

Alan played for Kidwelly, Trimsaran & Pontyberem from the Gwendraeth 
Valley as well as Llanelli Athletic before donning the Burry Port jersey 
in the early 1980's.

He was a cornerstone of the pack & always looked forward to having a 
post match pint at the corner of the bar with his friends - always with 
a smile on his face.

Alan captained 'The Blacks' in the 1982-83 season and would always be 
happy to pass on his vast experience to the younger players in the team.

Alan represented the West Wales Rugby Union on several occasions during 
commemorative matches & was presented with a special award by Dennis 
Jones to mark his achievement of playing more than 1000 senior rugby 
games.

Our condolences go to his family & details of his funeral will be posted 
when available.
