It was back to league action on Saturday and after the disappointment of the teams exit from the bowl in the 1/4 finals this was always going to be a potential bannana skin for the Blacks.
With the squad hit by injuries and players unavailble due to work commitments it was a big test of the strength of the squad.
From the opening whistle the Blacks showed their intent and controlled posession and territory in the opening exchanges and came close to scoring on a number of ocassions.
The conditions and referee were playing their part from keeping the Blacks from crossing the line and Llangadog could count themselves very fortunate not to recieve any yellow cards after a string of offences 5m away from the tryline.
This was a game that could have easily seen the Blacks get frustrated and lose composure but to their credit they kept their heads and dug in until they finally broke the deadlock with a well executed try, a second soon followed and as the half drew to a close they got their 3rd.
half time Llangadog 0 - Burry Port 17
The half time team talk was all about playing the conditions and keeping Llangadog pinned in their own half and being patient to score the all important bonus point try, However straight from the kick off a great couple of phases of play from the Burry Ports own 22 seen them race up field and score the bouns point try.
With the game now beyond Llangadog, Burry Port emptied the bench including a debut appearance from the very promising youth hooker Ben Edwards.
Llangadog did manage to score two well taken tries but another try from the Blacks put to bed any thought of a late comeback from the home team.
Final score
Llangadog 14 Burry Port 29.
