With an early morning start on the bus and an early kick off because of the Welsh game this always looked like a difficult fixture.
The Blacks are in fine form of late and this game was to prove no different with Burry Port dominating the game from the opening whistle.
Points machine scrum half Ben Williams opened the scoring with in 2 mintues with a well struck penalty and soon after turned down a couple of easy penalty attempts to order to sustain pressure on the home teams tryline.
The Burry Ports set piece controlled possession and the backs were cutting through the defence at will on times and resulted in some real classy tries being scored. The 1st came from a lovely pop pass from outstanding captain Dan Etteridge to Impressive winger Adam Rudall who ran a great line and beat the cover to the try line.
The second came from younger brother Luke Rudall who was enjoying a fine afternoon finding space and causing problems for the home team defence everytime he had the ball, with a well judged kick over the top he managed to out-pace the defence to score a fine solo try.
The 3rd was another cracker, with the ball being moved from one wing to the other and back again and with some great last ditch tackles seeming to stop the blacks only for some spectacular off loads from 2nd row Oliver Dunleavy and Luke Rudall keeping the move going to allow full back Steff Powell to finsh off in style.
4th try and the all important Bouns point came from livewire hooker Iwan Roberts who somehow managed to smuggle himself free from a rolling maul and dart over from 10 meters.
The 5th try came on the stroke of half time and was try of the match. after a solid scrum and some delightful handling, running angles and support lines centre Tom Bowen was able to strioll over under the posts to cap an outstanding first half.
Half time 36-0
The second half Lampeter managed to keep the ball for longer periods and tested the away team defence at times but the game was well won at this point and almost became a training session for Burry Port as they tried an array of moves in the 2nd half. The only try the Blacks managed was through power house No.8 Dylan Evans who from a srcum won against the head, picked it up from the base and ran over from 20 meteres with a couple of defenders on his back.,
Lampeter did manage a consolation try for their efforts but the afternoon well and truly belonged to an excellent Burry Port team.
Final score
Lampeter 7 Burry Port 43
Next up for the Blacks are Llangadog home on the 26th Nov 1:30 ko
