Ladies stay Top

Another Bonus point win for the "Lady Blacks" sees them remain at the summit of Division 2.

Porth or the "Rhondda Miners" as they are now known were the vistors to the Memorial Park on a glorious sunny afternoon. The Blacks wasted no time in showing their intent to play attacking rugby scoring a great try within the first couple of minutes. That was soon followed by another couple of tries and the signs were not looking good for the Miners. The pace of the game seemed to be a little too much at times for the away team with numerous stopages affecting the flow of the game. When the game was slowed down the Miners were able to use their heavier pack to make some yards close to the rucks and score two trys to get themselevs back into the game, but when Burry Port were able to speed the game up and allowed to play rugby the visitors were no match. More tries soon followed for the home team and with the likes of the Jenkins twins and Catrina Bowen making some classy breaks and Caitlin Roberts showing great speed to finish some fine tries it was a question of how big the score would be.

To their credit the Miners never gave up and when they had the ball they run hard but the Burry Port defence held up and made some impressive turnovers which were quickly turned into attack and resulted in some great tries, and with Hannah Stiles in form with the boot and making some good conversions the score board was racking up.

Final Score 64 - 17, the Ladies will be pleased with their efforts with 3 maxium point hauls from the first 3 league games but they also know there are some big games coming up and the next game against Lampeter away will be a real test.
